In our Club Penguin Flashback series we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2006 Sports Day. 

Sports Day was the first event focused on athletic events in Club Penguin. It was considered a lengthy party back in the day lasting from August 11-21, 2006. The party took place in several different rooms including Beach, Coffee Shop, Ice Rink, Ski Hill, Pizza Parlor, Beach, Dock and many other places. During the event you could collect the Red Face Paint, Blue Face Paint, and the Ice Skates.

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 41

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2011 Music Jam.

The Music Jam 2011 was a long party lasting from June 16th - July 5, 2011, making it Club Penguin's fourth Music Jam. It is an annual party where music takes over the entire island! During the party, everyone could collect  the  Music Jam Cap, Cadence Background (only if you met her) Band Autograph (only if you met the penguin band). There were also a good bit of member items to collect. If you got lucky enough, you could encounter the Penguin Band and/or Cadence waddling around the island. This party was the best of its kind yet!

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 37

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is 2012 New Year's Day.

 New Year's Day 2012 was a lengthy event lasting from December 29, 2011 - January 5, 2012. New Year's Day is an annual event where Club Penguin celebrates a new year to come. The event took place in several rooms including the Snow Forts, Iceberg, and the Ski Hill. There weren't necessarily any decorations; there were only fireworks. There were no items to collect and you couldn't meet any mascots.

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 36

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is October 17, 2012, the day Billybob announced his resignation.
October 17 started as a normal day. However, later into the day, Billybob announced his resignation. He sent a letter to all Disney employees, and it read:

"Like many entrepreneurs though, there comes a time when the desire to create something new outweighs the comfort of what’s known and for me that time has come."

He posted to the Club Penguin blog later that day as well. He said:

"I wanted to make sure you heard it directly from me, after 7 incredible years at Club Penguin, I'm going to be moving on.  I'll be around for the next few months to make sure everything is all good.  Then I'll be focusing on building some cool stuff for schools.  I hope I'm able to help with learning the same way I have been able to help build Club Penguin. "

He turned over his position to Spike Hike, who is now recognized as the 'leader' or 'CEO' of Club Penguin. Lane Merrifield had a small party that day on Club Penguin, to say thank-you for all of the support he received that day from the entire community. Click to enlarge.

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2005 Halloween Party.
The 2005 Halloween Party was a very small party that happened around October 27, 2005. It was Club Penguin's second party ever, with the first being the Beta Test Party. It only had two rooms decorated, the Town and Dance Club. There were no free items, and no music.

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 34

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 29009 4th Anniversary Party.

The 4th Anniversary Party was a short celebration lasting for two days: October 24 - October 26, 2009. It took place in the Town, Coffee Shop, and the Book Room. The party celebrated Club Penguin's fourth birthday and it introduced a new yearbook to be kept the Book Room. During the party, you could collect the colorful and unique 4th Anniversary Hat.

Fun Fact: The party was so crowded that Club Penguin crashed multiple times on October 24. This led to an extension in the party lasting until October 26.

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2006 Summer Party.

The Summer Party was was a lengthy party that lasted a little over a week; June 16 - 26, 2006. It lasted all throughout Club Penguin. Summer was kicked off with a little partying! During the party, you could collect the following items: the Yellow Duck, Water Wings, Blue Lei, and the Whistle (some of those items are now extremely rare!) Also, when the party began, the beach opened up for the first time ever!

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 32

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the Lime Green Party 2006. 
The Lime Green Party was a small party held in November of 2006. It was member's only, therfor non-paying penguins could not access it. It was held in only the Dojo. This party was in honor of the lime green color winning the color vote. Member penguins had early access to the color, and also were able to receive lime green capes. When snowballs were thrown, they were instead a green colored paintball. The party lasted a total of three days.

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2005 Server Testing.

The 2005 Server Testing was a long, yet small event lasting from December 5, 2005 - February 13, 2006. During this event, you would test brand new servers for Club Penguin by looking for bugs and reporting them. For helping out, you could earn the following items hidden around the island: Black Toque, Pink Toque, Blue Sunglasses, Red Sunglasses, Black Bowtie. A few of those items are very rare to see today!

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2012 Earth Day Celebration.

The 2012 Earth Day Celebration was a short event that lasted from April 19 - 26, 2012, making it Club Penguin's 3rd Earth Day Party/Celebration. It took place in only one room: the Snow Forts. The 2012 Earth Day Celebration was held to honor Earth Day held every year on April 22nd. During the event, you could collect the Safari Helmet and Aunt Arctic's background (if you met her). All the other items were for members only. 

Fun Fact: This was predicted to be the last Earth Day Celebration on Club Penguin.

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 26

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2011 Battle of Doom.

The Battle of Doom was a very short event only lasting for one day: May 31, 2011. Herbert, EPF enemy, built a robot using scraps he found from the Medieval Party 2011 (which were 3 big metal hydra heads). Then he created 'The Hydra', trying to use it to destroy the EPF. During this event you could collect the EPF Badge Pin. All the other items were for members only. It was rumored Herbert would become a mascot at this event but it was soon proven to be false.

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 25

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2012 Operation: Blackout.

Operation: Blackout was a lengthy party lasting Nov. 15 - Dec. 6, 2012; about 3 weeks! During this party, the whole island was conquered by EPF enemy, Herbert, and he used a solar laser to block out the sun. He redirected all of the sun's energy into his lair and created a 'paradise' hogging all of the warmth of the sun (he thought that Club Penguin was freezing cold). While the party was occurring  you could collect: Rookie's Giveaway Background, Herbert's Giveaway Background, Klutzy Disguise, Herbert Security Clearance, Grappling Hook, Plasma Laser, Smoke Goggles, Deflection Vest , Anti-Lava Boots, Covert Agent Station; a good bit of items! Herbert officially became a mascot at this party and the Director's identity was revealed (which is Aunt Arctic)

Club Penguin Flashback: Day 24

In our Club Penguin Flashback series, we flashback to a moment in Club Penguin's past. Today's flashback is the 2011 Great Snow Race.

The Great Snow Race took place from August 25 - August 31, 2011. The party was really an EPF mission - its goal was to seal the EPF's arch nemesis, Herbert, into his lair while he was hibernating. It occurred in the Ski Village, Ski Hill, Town, and all other mountain areas. During the party, you could collect the following items - the Alpine Helmet, Infrared Tracker, Expedition Key Pin, and the AC 3000 Pin. There were no mascot appearances at this party, however, it was rumored that Gary would be waddling around during the party.
